Neem (Azadirachta Indica)pacifies pitta dosha.Its therapeutic uses include treating pimples,eczema and other skin diseases.It helps in curing fever, intrinsic hemorrhage, bleeding piles, wounds, oedema & diabetes. Being Antibacterial, anthelminthic, Antiviral, Antifungal in properties,it serves a wide role in therapeutic applications especially blood infections.
Gorakhmundi (Sphaeranthus indicus)Being a nervine & blood tonic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic in action, it plays a significant role in relieving skin infections & blood disorders.Flowers are highly esteemed as alternatives,depuratives,refrigerants & tonics,useful as blood purifiers in skin diseases.Studies reveal that the herb is also effective in curing skin lesions associated with chronic skin diseases such as syphilis & gonorrhea.
Trifla (Harad, Baheda and Amla),a combination of three fruits in one (in their dried and powdered form) clears skin pigmentation & kills the acne-causing bacteria due to the presence of many antioxidant compounds and thus rejuvenates, moisturizes, smoothens, and softens the skin.
Vasa (Adhatoda vasica): It balances pitta and Kapha doshas. Vasa is a coolant herb with a pungent taste that has an effective action in relieving burning sensation and pitta in the body, in treating blood disorders and bleeding conditions, and acts as a blood purifier as well.
Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) is bitter in taste and is noted as a blood purifier and stimulant i.e. used for diabetes, high cholesterol, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), gastric upset, gout, lymphoma and other cancers, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), hepatitis, peptic ulcer disease (PUD), fever, gonorrhea, syphilis, and to boost the immune system.
Amaltas (Cassia fistula) subsides flatulence & acidity, reduces colic pain, eases the discomfort of piles, stops bleeding from different parts of the body and benefits in heart diseases. It cleanses the blood and eradicates skin problems like itching, inflammation and suppuration, while alleviates the pain of arthritis, gout, nervous system diseases, eczema, ringworm, leukoderma, leprosy etc.
Manjeeth (Rubia cordifolia):One of the best blood purifying herb i.e. beneficial for skin health as it acts as a rejuvenator that has inflammatory and analgesic properties. It acts mainly on rasa and rakta srotasas, alleviates the kapha and pitta doshas and eliminates toxins. This ameliorates Bhrajaka pitta (pitta from the skin) and makes the complexion better. It is used to treat various skin disorders like erysipelas, eczema, acne, scabies and allergic manifestations, controls the irritation of nerves and pacifies the nervous irritation because it cools and detoxifies the blood, dissolves the obstructions in blood flow, and clears stagnant blood from the circulatory pathway.
Babchi (Psoralea corylifolia): Babchi is known for treating skin diseases like leukoderma, psoriasis, non healing wounds, scabies, scars and ringworm etc. since time immemorial.Topical application of its seed oil helps in hypo-pigmentation and improves skin tone. Its functions include anti-dermatosis, mild laxative, appetizer & nervine tonic. It also promotes hair growth.
Daru haldi (Berberis arisata): It is one of the best Ayurvedic herbs, that helps correct metabolism, improve the liver function, nourishes the skin, reduces chances of heart failure, liver disease, malaria, eye infection called trachoma, skin diseases, heavy menstrual periods, swelling of the stomach & intestines (gastroenteritis), diarrhea, and yellowed skin (jaundice). Karela (Momordica charantia): It has powerful anti-oxidants along with vitamin A and C which prevent premature skin ageing, diminishes wrinkles, reduces acne, aids in treating eczema and psoriasis, as well as protects the skin from the harmful UV rays. These nutrients vitamin A, C, Biotin and Zinc impart shine and luster to hairs, and purifies blood. Applying its juice regularly to the scalp can decrease hair loss and greying of hair, will treat split-ends, shrug off dandruff.
